As a pastor serving a Kent congregation, I have the privilege of accompanying families in their everyday journeys. Many times, I celebrate with them as parents and children deepen their love and strengthen their communication. But there are also times of heart-wrenching struggle when youth or parents need more help than I can give. If there is enough trust to hope, then families will come forward for help. When they do, I don’t hesitate. I send them to Kent Youth and Family Services. I am proud to serve on their board because I trust their work. I am confident that a family in a difficult place can find support to manage their relationships and seek health and wholeness together.
