I serve on the KYFS Board of Directors, because I believe in the mission and the agencies ability to make a difference in the community. KYFS has given countless families the resources they need to be successful. Without the After School program, many kids in our neighborhoods may do without food or find themselves in trouble without a safe place to learn and grow. Without our transitional living program, homeless teenage/young adult mothers and their kids would be without stable housing and a place that truly cares about them. Without our counseling and substance abuse program, kids in our schools could go without new ways to cope with mental illness or could fall victim to addiction. Without our Head Start & ECEAP program, our youngest minds might go without a place to learn socialization skills, equal access to education, and paternal involvement. These are vital resources in our community and that’s why I am proud to volunteer for KYFS.
