On behalf of Renton Area Youth Services, Southwest Youth and Family Services, we here at Kent Youth and Family Services want to thank everyone who attended our “Next Up: Jeffersonian Dinners.” Together, we raised nearly $7,000 for the youth and families of South King County. More importantly, we were able to have some bold and brave conversations about LGBTQ youth, the real face of poverty in our communities, and immigrants, refugees, & changing demographics. Watching these conversations materialize was a pure joy. Watching your ideas and solutions pour forward was empowering. We can safely say on behalf of all three agencies, “thank you.” We also want you to know we hear you. Your ideas and concerns have not fallen on deaf ears. Instead, they now lay in the arms of three powerful agencies ready to dig deeper for the youth and families of South King County.
If you missed any of the three dinners, don’t worry they will be back next year. We found these conversations invaluable. Your ideas are too important not to capture in this type of setting. As we move forward with planning next year’s dinners, we look forward to any ideas you might have on how to make this event bigger and more successful. Feel free to drop a line in the comment section below. As always, we couldn’t do it without you.
