The following was submitted by an After School staff member.
For a week now, I’ve tutored Musa for his presentation on human trafficking. We started by reviewing the instructions, research and checked his slides for accuracy and grammar. Our biggest challenge was the presentation. He had a difficult time pronouncing some of the words. He also read most of the information, didn’t make eye contact and the volume of his voice was soft. We often went into a private room and practiced over and over making corrections each time. First, we worked on his enunciation, then eye contact and finally his volume. By his fifth time through the entire presentation, he had improved in every aspect. After an hour of work, he seemed so confident. A week later he reported back that he had gotten a B on the project.
