With Legacy Giving, you can continue supporting Kent Youth and Family Services and help future generations of youth and families achieve their goals.
What is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving (or planned giving) is a type of charitable donation that allows you to arrange the donation of assets such as real estate, stocks, art, or even vehicles and jewelry to a nonprofit organization you want to support by bequeathing assets to nonprofits through wills or trusts.
Planned gifts can help support nonprofit programming, administration, and operation costs for years to come. When planning your estate, you can choose whether to restrict your legacy gift to support a specific program or leave it unrestricted to be used where it is needed most to ensure your assets will be distributed in alignment with your personal values.
Legacy gifts do not need to be large donations- all gifts are meaningful!
Who is Legacy Giving For?
Legacy Giving is for anyone that wants to leave a lasting legacy in their community, ensure their assets will be distributed according to their wishes, and support an organization they find meaningful and valuable.
How to Plan Your Gift to Kent Youth and Family Services
In as little as one sentence, you can leave a gift to Kent Youth and Family Services in your will or living trust to ensure that we continue our mission for years to come. Below is suggested language to use when drafting your bequest:
For an unrestricted gift that allows Kent Youth and Family Services to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs, use the following language for your will and/or trust:
“I give to Kent Youth and Family Services, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 232 Second Ave S Suite 201, Kent, WA, 98032 or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”
To designate your provision for a particular purpose:
“I give to Kent Youth and Family Services, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 232 Second Ave S Suite 201, Kent, WA, 98032, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purpose) if and so long as Kent Youth and Family Services determines that the need exists. If Kent Youth and Family Services shall determine at the outset or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists, or for some reason it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, then Kent Youth and Family Services may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”
