KYFS offers a comprehensive range of social services, recreational, and educational programs for youth and their families residing in and around the three King County Housing Authority sites on the East Hill of Kent: Birch Creek Apartments, Valli Kee Homes, and Cascade Apartments.

The program supports youth development by providing safe, structured activities during after-school and summer hours, deeply embedded with the Washington State Quality Standards for After-school and Youth Development Programs. Serving youth aged 5 to 19, the curriculum focuses on the core program areas of academic enrichment, social emotional development, college and job readiness, life skills, and recreation.

The KYFS After School Program thrives on collaborations with community partners, including YMCA of Greater Seattle, which manages teen programming at our youth centers, and Communities of Rooted Brillance (CRB), which provides literacy support for K-3rd grade. This program receives funding from the King County General Fund.
