Kent Youth and Family Services is seeking a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor to provide counseling and intervention services to youth, families and communities utilizing individual and family therapy, group counseling, educational classes and case management. This position will also provide supervision for clinical staff.

REPORTS TO:
Mental Health Program Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides individual, family and group counseling, intake and assessment, crisis intervention, drop-in, and follow-up services at main office, local schools and/or by phone. Must meet 50% direct service goal or more and carry an ongoing caseload.
• Coordinate staff training program.
• Supervise clinical staff as assigned by Program Manager.
• Provide case consultation, linkage to and coordination of services with collateral contacts and advocacy for assigned clients.
• Utilize agency programs/services in effort to provide a continuum of care.
• Provide agency and program statistical information and information necessary for program/services evaluation.
• Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, NAVOS, State and King County requirements.
• Provide education and prevention services, i.e., skill building classes, and community and school trainings and presentations as required.
• Provide ongoing outreach to youth, parents, schools and communities to ensure awareness of community needs and service availability.
• Develop and maintain positive relations with community referral sources.
• Meet with manager on a regular basis and attend required meetings, consultations and trainings.
• Assist in supervision and/or training of Mental Health Intern staff as assigned by manager.
• Represent KYFS at meetings as requested by manager and other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in mental health field or equivalent and at least two years or more of relevant experience.
• Washington State license in mental health or equivalent in good standing.
• MHP credential.
• Experience in clinical supervision a plus.
• Multi-lingual preferred.
• Successful completion of a Washington State Patrol criminal background check.
• Satisfactory driving record with proof of auto liability insurance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of various counseling approaches for individual and family counseling, crisis intervention and brief therapy.
• Knowledge of Performance and Quality Improvement process.
• Knowledge of group process.
• Ability to develop and monitor goal-directed treatment relationships.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Ability to work in a community setting, marketing services and developing community resources.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural diversity.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work is performed in an office and/or school environment with extensive periods of time sitting. Individual will use computer requiring hand/wrist/finger movement and viewing of computer monitor. Ability to stand for periods of time during group facilitation.

HOURS/SALARY: This is a full-time, exempt position. Flexible schedule including some evenings. Benefits include medical, dental, life and short-term disability, vacation and sick leave. Agency contribution to 403b retirement after one year of service. Salary based on Agency wage structure and DOQ.
