Kent Youth and Family Services is seeking a Co-occurring Therapist to provide assessments, individual, family and group counseling services to youth and families. This position will be located at the Maple Valley Community Center part-time and at the main office in Kent part-time.

REPORTS TO:
Director, Behavioral Health Programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide therapy to youth with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders and their families in an outpatient setting.
• Provide GAIN assessments and complete M-90’s.
• Provide co-occurring disorders group treatment.
• Provide case management for clients on caseload.
• Enter client information into EMR system meeting required timelines.
• Respond when needed and available for client crisis calls and telephone intakes.
• Seek continuing education and training related to providing therapeutic services to youth and families
• Assist with marketing, public relation events and projects as needed to promote services at new location.
• Provide consultations to other agency programs when requested.
• Promote effective relationships among diverse populations of youth and families receiving services.
• Work collaboratively with other community based organizations and child serving systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Chemical Dependency Professional or Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee registered with the State of Washington in good standing.
• Master’s Degree in mental health field or equivalent and licensed in the State of Washington in good standing.
• Two years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse counseling to youth and families in individual, family and group settings.
• GAIN certified.
• Ability to work independently.
• Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to serving the needs of youth and families working collaboratively with other community based organizations in support of the agency’s goals and mission.
• Satisfactory completion of Washington State Criminal Background check.
• Must have satisfactory driving record with proof of auto insurance coverage.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work is performed in an office environment with extensive periods of time sitting. Individual will use computer requiring hand/wrist/finger movement and viewing of computer monitor. Periods of standing during group facilitation may be required.

HOURS/SALARY: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Flexible schedule including some evenings. Benefits include vacation, sick leave and holiday. Company contribution to 403b retirement after one year and 1,000 hours of service. Wage DOQ.
